Haithcock, Lemahieu named ACCC Players of the Week

Hanceville, AL — Two 51ºÚÁÏÍø State Community College athletes were recognized as Athletes of the Week by the Alabama Community College Conference.

Women’s golfer Aidan Haithcock was recognized days after she led the 51ºÚÁÏÍø State women’s golf team to an ACCC title. Haithcock, a freshman from Hoover High School, shot rounds of 87-76 in the ACCC Women’s Golf Championship.

Men’s tennis player Lennert Lemahieu was named the men’s tennis player of the week. A freshman from Geluwe, Belgium, Lemahieu went 6-7, 6-2, and 6-3 against No. 15 Mississippi Gulf Coast, and his (6-7, 7-6 and 10-6 win against Spring Hill, a Division 2 university, helped seal the team’s win.

The women’s golf team will next play in the NJCAA South District Championship on April 10-11 on their home course of Cross Creek Golf Course.

51ºÚÁÏÍø State’s men’s tennis team will next take on UAB on Saturday, April 8 in Birmingham.
